Meet Kate
Assistant Professor, Qualitative Methodologist Specialist
Professional Yoga Teacher
I am currently an Assistant Professor of Educational Research at Piedmont College where I teach classes and work one-on-one with students earning their Educational Doctorate. I am a graduate of The University of Georgia where I earned a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology and a certificate in Interdisciplinary Qualitative Research Studies. I continue to work with the Torrance Center for Creativity and Talent Development by training teachers and administrators on how to score the Torrance Test for Creative Thinking - Figural forms.
Prior to my work in higher education, I spent several years as a high school mathematics teacher. I have worked in public, charter, and private schools, and I have a passion for working with diverse groups of gifted and talented adolescents.
I am also a professional yoga teacher, with my training and practice lying in the Pranakriya and Kripalu traditions. I am a Lead Teacher and Teacher Trainer at M3Yoga in Athens, Ga. I believe every body is a yoga body and often lead classes directed towards supporting students' individual experiences on their mats. My goal as a teacher is to share the essence of yoga so that students leave class feeling more grounded and alive.
Thanks for stopping by!
